Then I will go to the kitchen, open the refrigerator and take out a fresh, young coconut. I will put a straw in the coconut and drink the water.
After 8 hours of sleep your body needs to be rehydrated and coconut water is full of electrolytes.
I got this tip from Urijah Faber, a professional MMA fighter who uses coconut water to rehydrate after shedding weight for a professional fight.
(I purchase coconuts in bulk from a local fruit vender approximately every 2-3 days).
Then I will grab an ice cold bottle of water and two bananas. Your body is made of mostly water and even after the coconut water has been ingested you still need to drink water. I drink water nearly constantly throughout the day.
I eat bananas for the potassium (bananas and pineapple are the most important fruits for the bodybuilder).
Then I will eat hard-boiled egg whites. I don’t count how many I eat, I just eat until I’m tired of eating them. I don’t eat the yolks because hard-boiled egg yolks taste like chalk.
After I am finished eating I will drink one cup of coffee to “wake up” and prepare for the day.
I drink coffee after eating because coffee is acidic and I want to make sure my nutrients are digesting properly before I drink acidic coffee. I got this tip from dieting consultant Mike Dolce.
Then I have two options….
I will either shower or go to the gym.
Morning Option #1) Go to the gym
If I go to them gym I will typically do cardio for 30 minutes and work up a good sweat. A good sweat will release toxins from the body.
(I do not typically lift weights in the morning.)
I also do cardio to clear my head to help prepare for the day ahead.
I will typically listen to one song on repeat for the duration of my cardio session (I started doing cardio specifically because I wanted to listen to Black by Pearl Jam and not be idle at the same time).
After a good sweat is worked up I will take a cold shower. A cold shower feels better after you have been sweating.
Morning Option #2) Go directly to the cold shower
If I don’t go to the gym that morning I will go directly to the cold shower.
After the shower I will shave, apply deodorant, then get dressed in nice, fresh, clean clothes.
Then I will put on a $500 watch and I will go upstairs to my home office to catch up on emails and start my work for the day.
At some point during mid-morning I will get on my motorbike and go to a local coffee shop to work.
I like to get some fresh air from the bike ride (even though I wear a mask) and, unlike the Vietnamese who cover every piece of skin, I wear light shirts so my body can soak in some vitamin D from the sun.
I make it a point to leave the house daily because it’s not good to be cooped up inside all day, even if you do live in a mansion, and I enjoy the chilly air and the feeling of freedom as I approach 80 km/h on the wild highways of Saigon.
At the coffee shop I will order a cappuccino, a water and a fresh pineapple juice.
I will continue working until I feel the wooden chair become uncomfortable, at which point I will ask for the check and I will leave. As a tip I will leave whatever small money they give back to me.
Then I will walk down the winding, spiral staircase, I will give my moto ticket to the security man, I will hop on my motorbike and I will leave town the same way I came in.
And I will take all the Vietnamese barista’s hearts with me. I know you so horny, baby, but I got work to do and ass to kick.
